Shahid Afridi has deep faith in Fakhar Zaman and Sharjeel Khan in the opening pair. The star all-rounder and former captain thinks that if these two innings open, Pakistan will be in a position to win the match in six overs.
This year’s T20 World Cup will start on October 16 in the United Arab Emirates and Oman. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not included Sharjeel in the short-overs world stage squad. He is not allowed to open even if he gets a place of pride. Afridi has enough objections about this.
“Everyone has their own opinions,” Afridi said on his YouTube channel. I think Fakhar Zaman and Sharjeel Khan should be Pakistan’s openers in T20 cricket. If one of the two finds his own style, then the match can be won in six overs.
‘I am not happy with Fakhar Zaman’s batting position. I don’t know why he was asked to play at number five or six. He has played as an opener throughout his career. We need an opener like him who can score as many runs as possible in the first six overs. Afridi added.
