Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) is scheduled to start on December 10. One-day matches will be arranged this time side by longer version.
The draft of the four-team tournament will commence Thursday (November 25).
The four teams are- Walton Central Zone, BCB South Zone, Islami Bank East Zone and BCB North Zone. Each team has the option to retain six cricketers from the previous season.
The BCL will be started through the four-day match. The tournament will be played in a round-robin format in the group stage before the top two teams will battle it out in the final. Then, the one-day matches will be started. The final will be held after playing three matches.
On the other hand, Zafrul Ehsan was appointed as the coach of Walton Central Zone. Bowling and fielding specialist Saiful Islam will also work for the team.
Central Zone Team management joined a meeting on Wednesday evening (November 24). Walton Central Zone’s Chief Executive Officer Uday Hakim, Team Manager Rabiul Islam Milton, and Coach Zafrul attended the meeting.
Walton Central Zone retained six cricketers. They are – Mohammad Mithun, Abdul Majid, Shuvagata Hom, Mukidul Islam Mugdha, Shahidul Islam and Nazmul Islam Apu.
Already, Shuvagata Hom has become the tournament’s best player while Apu got the highest number of wickets in the recently ended National League. Following their outstanding performance, Dhaka Division became champion. So, the Walton Central Zone has kept faith in them.
